General Activation Steps
Complete your purchase
Checkout securely via Dodo Payments. You will receive an order confirmation email immediately.
Receive your licence key
Your genuine McAfee activation key and step-by-step install guide are emailed within 24 hours to the address used at checkout.
Download McAfee
Visit mcafee.com/activate or use the download link in your email. Run the installer on your device.
Activate and protect
Enter your licence key when prompted. McAfee will update its threat database and begin protecting your device immediately.
Platform-Specific Instructions
Windows
- Open the download link from your delivery email or visit mcafee.com/activate
- Run the installer and follow the on-screen prompts
- Sign in to or create a McAfee account when asked
- Enter your licence key exactly as shown in your email
- Allow McAfee to complete its initial update — protection starts immediately
macOS
- Download McAfee from the link in your delivery email
- Open the .dmg file and drag McAfee to Applications
- Grant required system permissions in System Settings → Privacy & Security
- Enter your licence key when prompted during setup
- McAfee will register your subscription and begin scanning
Android & iOS
- Install McAfee Mobile Security from the App Store or Google Play
- Open the app and sign in with the same McAfee account used on desktop
- Go to Activate or Enter Product Key in the app settings
- Type your licence key from the Core Softwares delivery email
- Your mobile device is added to your subscription device count
Key not working?
Ensure you are entering the key exactly as provided — no extra spaces. Confirm you have not exceeded your device limit. If the key still fails, contact us with your order number. Support applies to website purchases only.
